Oh, don't tell me you're using lynx? Oh, you poor bastard! Well, give pipestreet a go, maybe it will work. (Fat chance!)
This stunning piece of online multimedia fiction was produced in 1996 by boldra and was hosted at bedrock.netinfo.com.au/~paulboldra until late 2000 when Dynamite pulled the plug the fuckiing useless bastards. Never trust EISA! Anyway, the whole shebang was modelled and rendered in 3dstudio Max (v1) on a IBM DX66 with 32 M ram. I got a bit lazy with the textures in places, but I'm still pretty proud of how the widow came out herself. The computer looks pretty cool too, but I should have spent more time getting the lighting and the general stmosphere closer to what I wanted. You really can't see enough of the skyline to believe it's any kind of living city, but then I suppose I shouldn't get too critical, I did have to finish the thing at some point and it too over two months as it is. Today I have a machine 4 times as powerful that fits in my pocket (A sony vaio picturebook - a funky arse piece of hardware). Speaking of funky-arse, have you been to Marklars page recently? check out http://funkcity.com/. It used to be good, then he started to feel ashamed and he locked it all up. Maybe he lost his job or something, I dunno. IT's great and all, I really like the variety of jobs I can find, but with so many small companies going to the wall so suddenly, you can find yourself out on your arse pretty suddenly. I mean, just two months ago I was given the sack because the company had decided to "change direction" the next week I was rehired, because someone else had left. The week after that the company was bought out, and everyone was sacked except me. I'm not even sure if anyone still knows I'm sitting down here in this dark room getting paid and spending my time writing this crap.
