GarbleBoy is half a game. The idea for GarbleBoy came from a game played by Joe Fernwright in Philip K. Dick's Galactic Pot Healer The point of the game is to find a common English phrase, perform multiple machine translations on it, and then send it (possibly with clues) to a friend. In Galactic Pot Healer the characters use the titles of classic novels and send them to each other all day instead of working. Pretty clever for an idea conceived in 1968, eh? |
